ILAARRDEC welcomes new execs for regional DA, BFAR

The Ilocos Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development Consortium (ILAARRDEC), again warmly welcomes the new designated officer in charge of the Department of Agriculture-Region I (DA-R1) and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-Region I (BFAR-R1) as new members of the Regional Research and Development Coordinating Council (RRDCC).
Dr. Nestor D. Domenden assumed as the Officer In-charge in the Office of the Regional Executive Director of DA-R1 on September 2. He was the Regional Director of BFAR-R1 and served the institution since 1999. He is not new in the consortium because he seats as a member of the RRDCC being the director of BFAR. Now, he continues to be a member, representing DA-R1. As a member, he dynamically supports the different programs, projects, and activities of the consortium that involves collaboration and sharing of resources. With his exemplary performance as administrator and researcher, he bagged various awards, such as, Civil Service Commission PAGASA Awardee (Individual Category) during the 2007 Annual Search for Outstanding Public Officials and Employees, Most Outstanding Public Official of Region 1 during the Pammadayaw Award, by the Regional Development Council CY 2005, among others.
Moreover, Ms. Rosario Segundina P. Gaerlan took over the office of the Regional Director of BFAR as the Officer In-charge. Ms. Gaerlan is a Training Center Superintendent II and has been working with BFAR-R1 since 1988. She served as BFAR’s representative to the Regional Research and Development Group (RRDG) of ILAARRDEC. As member of the RRDG, she was actively engaged in the different activities of the consortium, such as, preparation of collaborative R&D projects, among others, planning meetings, research reviews, among others. As the officer in-charge of the Office of the Regional Director of BFAR, she will seat as a member of the RRDCC of the consortium. (ILAARRDEC Ilocos Region)
